1. Marlin-Class Container Ship Design The Marlin-class vessels are the world's first container ships powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).The Marlin-class ships are designed to burn either fuel oil, or gas, derived from LNG, thereby significantly decreasing gaseous emissions and increasing fuel efficiency, when compared with conventionally powered ships. The clean-burning LNG fuel of the new Marlin-class vessels provide exceptional environmental benefits, such as considerable reductions in particulate matter (PM) by 99%, sulphur oxide (SOx) emissions by 98%, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 71% and nitrous oxide (NOx) emissions by 91%. Dua tahun lalu aku bermimpi untuk bisa ke luar negeri, entah kemana tujuan pada waktu itu. Hingga pada akhirnya pilihanku jatuh ke Malaysia. Terserah orang berkata apa, toh mereka punya pendapat masing-masing. dan aku terima alasan mereka satu persatu. Bermacam pertanyaan datang satu persatu. Diantaranya mereka membandingkan mutu pendidikan, apa tidak sebaiknya ke negara lain saja, korea, jepang, jerman?. Ngapain ke Malaysia?. Pertanyaan tersebut sentak membuatku ciut sebelah. Always believe in yourself."   Mulai perlahan aku membangun jawaban yang tepat dari pertanyaan semacam itu. Aku temukan juga di ujung bulan sabit ketika separuh bumi gelap. Survey Class Badan  klasifikasi kapal merupakan bagian penting dari sebuah bangunan kapal. Di Indonesia sendiri sudah terdapat badan klasifikasi yaitu Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) namun keberadaan BKI masih belum dapat untuk menjadi anggota asosiasi dunia. Namun untuk kapal yang berlayar di daerah perairan Indonesia dapat menggunakan peraturan dari BKI. Selain BKI di Indonesia sendiri tidak jarang menggunakan klas asing untuk sebuah kapal. Klas yang biasa digunakan oleh kapal di Indonesia antara lain LR (Lloyd Register), BV (Bureau Veritas), RINA (Registro Italiano Navale),GL (Germanischer Lloyd), maupun ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).  (Gambar 1.
